Bali Vacation 2013 DAY 1

Hello non existent readers of this blog.I've probably got 0 readers because i simply do not blog. Well, i'm back to blogging because i finally and i must repeat, FINALLY have something to blog about. My life isn't that boring but i just find it rather tedious to start up a blog post especially since i did not have a computer to myself in the past. YES, i finally own a mac book pro simply because i need one for University and just so happens that my dad's company sponsored him another lappy so his mac is mine now(insert evil laughter).
On to my Bali trip!I initially wanted to go to krabi as they have amazing snorkeling spots.(Yes, i got really mesmerized by the Rainbow Reef at adventure cove so much so that i wanted to go on a snorkeling vacation) But, a friend of my dad's said Krabi was having its raining season which forced as to choose Bali as a plan B destination.

Our flight was at 7 in the morning, on Garuda Indonesia airlines so i slept through the whole plane ride.Upon our arrival, we were trying to identify my dad's name among the crowd of drivers holding ply cards and we had a hard time because?

His name was written as " Oo Lan" instead of "Alan".

While my parents were settling the room check in, my brother and i went to enjoy the view of the pool and the beach.

After checking in, we spent the day at the beach and pool. The beach was a disappointment because i expected the beach to be clean with white sand but it ended up being really dirty, filled with seaweed and rubbish. We were told by a guy working at the water sports booth that it was due to low tide so we felt better after.

The low tide turned out to be a blessing in disguise because it it allowed us to walk to an "island" (actually just a build up of sand caused by the currents) and we saw star fishes! I expected them to feel scaly but they ended up having a hard, rubbery texture.

We went back to the hotel to get cleaned before being driven to another beach for fresh seafood dinner with the luxury of watching the sun set. They view of it was just so so so breath taking.

fresh oysters but they were too small to be enjoyed

Grilled squid, BBQed fish and prawns. All so deliciously yummy.

 Live performance at every table.

Sweet corn that tasted salty and sweet at the same time.
Too delicious.

After dinner, it was back to the hotel for a good nights' rest in preparation for day 2 which was a day tour of Bali.
